Supply of Various Grains, Oils, and Raw Sugar
Afra Grain, a subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, is responsible for the procurement of grains, oils, and raw sugar through both domestic and international sourcing. A significant portion of grains and crude edible oils is imported from countries such as Canada, Ukraine, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, and others. Afra Grain plays a decisive role in supplying these commodities to the subsidiary companies of the holding company. It also plays a role in the commercial and production activities of partner companies within the Afra group.
The procurement of over 3 million various grains, oils, and raw sugar for companies and commercial divisions under Afra Grain is ongoing, and this performance has a significant impact on the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding.
Oil Extraction from Various Oilseeds
Afra Oil, a subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, specializes in extracting
high-quality oils from oilseeds such as soybeans and canola. Afra Oil carries out various processes on oilseeds to produce crude edible oil and oilcake. These two products can be used within the subsidiary companies of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding or sold to partner companies outside the holding. Future plans for this sector include the production of fatty acids and edible and industrial lecithin.
With the help of technology, the company has the ability to convert palm oil into various oils used in industries such as olein, stearin, hard stearin, and deodorized oil, among others. This fractionation process on palm oils is one of the special capabilities of this sector.
Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding performs the afore mentioned processes for all partner companies.
Navid Khouzestan is one of the largest and most valuable oil extraction and edible oil production complexes in the country and is a subsidiary of Afra Oil. This company has a capacity of 4,500 tons of oilseed consumption per day and can be expanded to 12,000 tons per day.
Production of Various Edible Oils
The crude oil obtained, along with other imported crude oils or fractionated palm oils, undergoes various refining processes (including neutralization, bleaching, deodorization, etc.) under strict national standards and quality control to produce edible oil suitable for consumption. This edible oil is then converted into bulk or packaged forms in various sizes such as cans, bottles, etc., to be supplied to domestic and international markets for household (B2C) and industrial (B2B) consumption. Additionally, production can be customized for partner companies outside the holding company.
Other subsidiary companies of Afra Oil, including Navid Khalije Fars, Golbahar Jadde Abreshim, Pakdideh, and Nasim Mehr, collectively produce 1600 tons of various edible oils, contributing significantly to the company’s overall performance.
Production of Various Feed for Livestock, Poultry, and Aquatic Animals
In the subsidiaries of Afra Oil, after the oil extraction process from oilseeds, the resulting seed meal is used in Afra Protein’s subsidiaries to produce various animal feed. A portion of this seed meal also sold as flakes or pellets to partner companies.
By utilizing these seed meals, others, vitamins, and necessary compounds, various animal feed for livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals are produced. These products are offered in both bulk and packaged forms. The production process is tailored based on different dietary requirements as per customer or subsidiary orders and employs the latest global technologies, adhering to strict quality standards and controls.
Nasim Mehr and Arian Protein, subsidiaries of Afra Protein, play a significant role in this process with a combined production capacity of 1,400 tons of various animal feed.
Breeding and Production of Various Laying and Broiler Chickens, Pullets, Eggs, and Day-Old Chicks
Afra Protein’s primary activities include the production of animal feed, the breeding and production of various broiler chickens, pullets, and laying hens, as well as the production of eggs. Broiler chickens, pullets, and eggs are used as inputs in the holding company’s subsidiaries. However, there is also a market for sales to partner companies.
Some of Afra’s subsidiaries include Royan Exim, Afra Makian, Fadak, and Urom Chakavak Protein.
Breeding and Production of Various Small Livestock
Afra Protein, the protein subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, is involved in the supply, production, and sale of meat and dairy small livestock. Additionally, it handles the slaughter and packaging of both small and large livestock.
Afra Protein subsidiaries, including Sarv Z’are, Sarv Daam, and Incheh Borun, contribute to this integrated value chain.
Breeding of Various Aquatic Species
Afra Protein engages in the breeding and production of various aquatic species, including southern fish and shrimp. After the production of these protein-rich products, a portion is used within the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, while the rest is sold to external customers.
Niksa, another subsidiary of Afra Protein, is the first and largest fish farming companies in the country with an annual capacity of 3000 tons. It plays a significant role in this segment of Afra’s integrated value chain.
Refining and Packaging of Various Sugars
Afra Sweet, a subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, specializes in refining raw sugar and packaging it in various sizes for both industrial (B2B) and consumer (B2C) markets. In the near future, it plans to expand into corn processing and the production of various starches, glucose, fructose, maltose, and other valuable downstream products.
Varamin Sugar Refinery and Novin Khalije Fars Sugar Refinery, subsidiaries of Afra Sweet, play a significant role in this segment of Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, with a combined capacity of 2.200 tons for sugar refining, production, and packaging.
Supply, Sales, and Distribution Services
Supply, sales, and distribution are among the most important and primary services provided by Afra , a subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding. These services cover a wide range of products, including oilseeds, crude oil, refined oil, processed oil, oilcake, pelletized seed meal, animal feed, poultry feed, aquaculture feed, meat and dairy livestock, broiler chickens, pullets, eggs, aquatic products, raw sugar, refined sugar, packaged sugar, and more.
In addition to these services, Afra also provides technical and commercial consulting services to partner companies.
Provision of Logistics and Port Services (Soon)
At Afra, a subsidiary of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, the supply of materials for the food value chain is carried out through land, sea, or combined transportation. Consulting services, as well as cargo transportation, can also be provided to companies outside the holding company. This division is one of the strategic arms of this subsidiary and plays a valuable and influential role.
Provision of Industrial Laboratory Services (Soon)
In the well-equipped laboratories of the Afra Integrated Food Value Chains Holding, laboratory services are provided for the oil, protein, and sweetener industries of the subsidiary companies. Moreover, given the holding company’s ISO certification, laboratory services are also available to partner companies.
